This Privacy Policy explains how Scalio Technology Private Limited (CIN: U62099DL2025PTC452625), registered office at Basement, K-2035, CR Park, Kalkaji, New Delhi – 110019, Delhi, India ("Scalio", "we", "us"), handles personal data.
This policy covers the whole of Scalio — our website at scalio.app, the web application at web.scalio.app, and the Scalio apps for iOS and Android (together, the "Platform"). It applies whether you are a visitor, a registered user, or a paying customer.
Using the Platform is also governed by our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you create an account, subscribe, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number where you provide it, business details (such as business name, category, website and the marketplaces you sell on), billing information, and the content of your messages to our support team.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Platform we collect your IP address, device and browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, the pages and screens you view, the time and duration of your visit, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP address, crash and diagnostic data, and app version.
Information from sign-in providers. If you sign in using Google, Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, we receive the profile information that service shares with us — typically your name, email address and profile image. We never receive or store your password for those services.
Information from accounts you connect. If you connect a third-party account — such as Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Google Business Profile, or an advertising account — we collect the access tokens needed to act on your behalf, together with the data required to deliver the features you have enabled. Depending on the feature, that may include your profile and page details, posts and media, message threads, reviews, advertising campaign data and performance metrics. You can disconnect a connected account at any time, which revokes our ongoing access.
Information we gather about your brand. To learn your brand, the Platform reads publicly available content from the website and social profiles you tell us about, such as your product catalogue, images, descriptions and tone of voice.
Content you upload. We collect and store the images, videos, product information, text and other material you upload or import, and the content generated for you on the Platform. Where that material includes personal data about other people, see section 5 below.
2. Why we use your information
We use personal data to:
- create and administer your account, and authenticate you;
- provide the Platform — generating content, scheduling and publishing it, replying to messages and reviews, and running advertising you have asked us to run;
- take payment, manage subscriptions and credits, and issue invoices;
- provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- keep the Platform secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and investigate misuse;
- understand how the Platform is used so we can fix problems and improve it;
- send you service messages about your account, and — where you have not opted out — marketing about our own products; and
- comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Where the law requires a specific basis for processing, we rely on your consent, on the performance of our contract with you, on compliance with legal obligations, or on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Platform.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers use cookies, SDKs, pixels and similar technologies on the Platform. We use them for three purposes:
- Essential. Needed for the Platform to work — signing you in, keeping your session, remembering your region, and protecting against fraudulent use. These cannot be switched off without breaking the service.
- Analytics and product improvement. To understand how the Platform is used and where it fails. This includes which pages and features are used, and how people interact with our pages — such as clicks, scrolling and navigation — so that we can diagnose problems and improve the experience.
- Advertising and attribution. To measure our marketing and understand which campaigns bring people to Scalio, including through advertising and social media platforms and, in our mobile apps, attribution tools.
We use third-party providers for these purposes, and the specific tools we use may change from time to time. If you would like the current list, write to dataofficer@scalio.app and we will provide it.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and reset or limit advertising identifiers in your device settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the Platform from working.
4. Who we share information with
We share personal data with the following categories of recipient:
- Cloud hosting and storage providers, who host the Platform and store your data on our behalf.
- Providers of AI models and APIs. To generate content for you, the material you upload and the instructions you give are sent to third-party providers of AI models and related services, which process that information under their own terms in order to return your Output.
- Payment gateways and app stores, who process your payment and subscription.
- Analytics, attribution and advertising providers, as described in section 3.
- Communication and support tools, used to send you email, notifications and messages and to run our support channel.
- Third-party platforms you have connected, such as Meta, WhatsApp and Google, when we act on your behalf on those platforms at your instruction.
- Professional advisers, auditors and authorities, where we are legally required to disclose, or where disclosure is necessary to establish or defend legal claims, prevent harm, or protect our rights.
- Acquirers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will give notice before your personal data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell personal data.
Our Platform also displays the business name, logo and examples of content created by some of our customers. Where you are a customer, our Terms of Service explain the permission this relies on and how to withdraw it.
5. Personal data you upload about other people
The Platform lets you upload or import personal data relating to other people — for example contact lists, phone numbers, email addresses, photographs, videos or testimonials belonging to your own customers or staff.
For that data, you decide why and how it is processed, and we process it on your instructions in order to provide the Platform to you. You are responsible for having a valid lawful basis and all necessary consents and notices before you upload it, as set out in our Terms of Service.
If you are an individual whose personal data has been uploaded to Scalio by a business, please contact that business in the first instance. You may also write to our Grievance Officer at dataofficer@scalio.app and we will help, including by passing your request to the relevant business.
6. Where your information is stored
We host the Platform and store data using Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. Some of our providers — including providers of AI models, analytics and communication tools — operate outside India, so your personal data may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your own.
Where we make such a transfer, we take steps we reasonably consider appropriate to require that the data continues to be protected, including through contractual terms with those providers.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. After that, we keep it only where we have a legal obligation to do so, or where we need it to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Usage and analytics data is generally kept for a shorter period, in aggregated or de-identified form where possible.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- ask for access to the personal data we hold about you, and a summary of how it is processed;
- ask us to correct data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
- ask us to erase your personal data;
- withdraw a consent you previously gave, without affecting processing already carried out;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity; and
- raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer, whose details are in section 13.
To exercise any of these, write to dataofficer@scalio.app from the email address registered to your account. We may need to verify your identity before we act, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
9. Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you. Email dataofficer@scalio.app from the address registered to your account, including your username. Once we have verified your identity, we will permanently delete your personal data from our systems within 30 days, unless we are legally required to retain it.
If you have an active account, you can also sign in and update, amend or delete certain information from your account settings. Deleting your account does not automatically delete content you have already published to third-party platforms through the Platform.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data, including encryption of data in transit, access controls on our systems, and confidentiality obligations on our staff and contractors. Access tokens for accounts you connect are stored in a form intended to prevent unauthorised use.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires.
11. Children
The Platform is intended for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact dataofficer@scalio.app and we will delete it.
12. Marketing messages
We may send you product news, offers and tips by email, push notification, or messaging channels you have opted into. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can turn off push notifications in your device settings. Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about your account, billing or security, which we need to send.
13. Grievance Officer
If you have a question, concern or complaint about how we handle personal data, please contact our Grievance Officer:
Aditya Garg, Director
Scalio Technology Private Limited
